Supported hardware

APP 1.2.0  ·  BLUETOOTH LE  ·  TRACK SETTINGS PRO

Track Settings times laps with the iPhone's own GPS out of the box. The hardware below is optional. Each device needs Track Settings Pro.

External GPS modules

A GPS module can replace the iPhone for lap timing and per-lap GPS telemetry. It is meant to hold a steadier position at speed, so lap times should be more repeatable.

Dragy DRG70 / DRG70 Pro

PRO
What it does
Lap timing and per-lap GPS telemetry from the module instead of the iPhone.
Connection
Bluetooth LE. iOS asks for Bluetooth permission at the first Connect.
Set up in the app
Settings (Home gear) → GPS → GPS source: External → Module: Dragy DRG70/Pro.
Channels
Latitude, longitude, and speed are always recorded. Pick optional channels under Logged GPS channels → Configure channels. The Dragy Pro has an IMU, but its data is not on the live Bluetooth stream the app reads, so the app offers no G-force or rotation channels for Dragy.

RaceBox Mini / Mini S / Micro

PRO
What it does
Lap timing and per-lap GPS telemetry from the module instead of the iPhone.
Connection
Bluetooth LE. iOS asks for Bluetooth permission at the first Connect.
Set up in the app
Settings (Home gear) → GPS → GPS source: External → Module: RaceBox Mini/S/Micro.
Channels
Latitude, longitude, and speed are always recorded. Pick optional channels under Logged GPS channels → Configure channels. A RaceBox live frame can include IMU G-force and rotation, so you can also log longitudinal, lateral, and vertical G, plus roll, pitch, and yaw.
Notes
The Mini, Mini S, and Micro share one live protocol and one Module entry. If a Mini S or Micro is already recording on its own at a lower rate, the live rate in the app drops to match. The app does not change that setting. The Micro runs on external power, so the app shows no battery level for it.

Pair a GPS module

  1. Open Settings from the Home gear, then GPS.
  2. Set GPS source to External. If notifications are on in Settings, iOS asks for notification permission, so the app can warn you if the module drops out.
  3. Under Module, pick the make you own.
  4. Switch the module on and keep it near the phone. Close the manufacturer's own app, so the module is not already connected to it.
  5. Tap Connect and accept the iOS Bluetooth prompt the first time. The status row shows progress.
  6. Check the GPS signal line. Three bars or more is good enough to mark a start/finish line.

After pairing

  • The app reconnects to the same module next time.
  • Disconnect drops the link and keeps the pairing.
  • Forget Device (swipe left on the module status row) clears the pairing. Use it when you replace the module.
  • The pairing is stored on that phone only, not in your account.
  • If the module drops out while the timer is armed, timing stops and the lap in progress is not recorded. The app never silently falls back to the iPhone GPS mid-session.
  • If nothing is found, the module is off, out of range, or connected to its own app.

Engine logging

Engine channels from an OBDLink CX, recorded alongside the lap telemetry.

OBDLink CX

PRO
What it does
Records engine channels alongside the lap telemetry. It is not a GPS receiver; lap timing still comes from GPS.
Connection
Bluetooth LE.
Set up in the app
Settings (Home gear) → OBD → Adapter: OBDLink CX.
Channels
Engine RPM and throttle are on by default. Optional: engine load, relative throttle, accelerator pedal, OBD speed, coolant temperature, intake air temperature, oil temperature, manifold pressure, mass air flow, barometric pressure, and module voltage. Which channels work depends on the car and the OBD protocol it uses; a value is stored only when the car reports it.

Pair the OBDLink CX

  1. Plug the OBDLink CX into the car's OBD-II port.
  2. Turn the ignition on.
  3. Open Settings from the Home gear, then OBD, and set Adapter to OBDLink CX.
  4. Tap Connect. Accept the iOS pairing dialog if one appears.
  5. Optional: open Configure channels to choose the engine channels.

Only one app at a time can talk to the adapter. Disconnect in Track Settings before you open another OBD app.
